Volunteering in one of our charity shops in and around Bristol is a fantastic way to make a difference whilst supporting your local Hospice. It's also a great way to meet new people, be environmentally conscious and engage with your local community. See below for further information or apply now and get going.
Our charity shop volunteers can get involved in all aspects of running a busy shop. We'd love your help with some or all the following:
Providing excellent customer service including using tills
Sorting, processing and steam cleaning stock as it arrives from our customers or warehouse
Arranging imaginative and attractive merchandising and window displays
You can see which shops are in need of volunteers in the 'please choose a shop' drop down list as part of the application form below.
We welcome any amount of time you can give us. Some volunteers work a couple of hours a week, others come in for 2 or 3 days. We can work with you on what time you can spare and fit volunteering around your existing commitments.
You'll be able to gain useful experience and transferable skills in retail and customer service. This looks great on CVs and UCAS forms.
We provide full training and support is always available. We pride ourselves on looking after our volunteers.
Volunteering is good for you. Evidence shows it's great for your mental and physical health! You'll make new friends and meet lots of new people from around Bristol, gain confidence and self-esteem. You'll also be contributing to the 'circular economy', cutting down on landfill and encouraging Bristol to recycle.
Some of our volunteers have gained employment as a paid member of staff within our charity shops or with another employer because of the experience they've gained.
We are welcoming volunteers aged 13-17 particularly those looking to volunteer as part of their DofE award.
Yes, we welcome young people who are interested in a career in charity retail for their school work experience week. When you apply, please let us know it's for work experience, and let us know your dates.
