Having a clear out? Finding yourself with a bag of clothes to donate? Here at St Peter's Hospice we'd love to receive them! And with over 40 shops across the Bristol area there's bound to be one close to you…
You can donate clothing, shoes and accessories that are in good, saleable condition. These can be women's, men's or children's clothes.
Wherever you are in Bristol, a St Peter's Hospice shop isn't far away. From Thornbury to Portishead, there will be one close to you. Take a look at our shop finder to find your nearest one.
Most of our shops accept donations every day during opening times, but please call ahead if you have a number of bags to donate. Some shops are unable to take donations on Sundays, to find this information, go to our shop finder and look at the details provided for the shop you would like to take your donations to. Please don't leave any bags outside of our shops when they are closed.
We'd love to receive any designer and high street brands and BNWT (Brand New With Tags) items. Many of our shops have Premium sections, and any designer brands will either be sold on our eBay shop or at our boutique shops in Clevedon (Hill Road), Clifton and Westbury Park.
We'd also love to take these. Vintage clothes make their way to our specialist shops in Portishead or Westbury Hill.
Our fantastic staff and volunteers process your clothes to get them on sale as quickly as possible. They sort through your bag of clothes and hang and steam the ones that will go out on sale in the shop. We barcode any where the donor has signed up to our Gift Aid Scheme, so we can earn an extra 25% on those items (see below). The price ticket also records how long they have been on sale in a particular shop and whether it's time to rotate them to another shop where they get another chance to sell, for example in one of our clearance shops. Clothes for eBay head to our warehouse in Avonmouth where our ecommerce team is based.
One of our staff members or volunteers will ask you if you're in our Gift Aid scheme when you drop off your clothes. They'll ask you to fill in a short form to confirm that you agree to this (just the usual personal details) and give you a card to keep in your wallet.
The shop team will attach a label to each bag that you donate with your Gift Aid number that can be scanned on your membership card. If you don't remember your number then no problem – just give them your name and postcode.
Your donations will be marked with a special barcode to match your details to each item and when sold they are linked to your agreement. The person buying it doesn't pay anything different, but St Peter's Hospice will get an extra 25% on top of the purchase price from the government.
The income made from our shops helps fund our services in the Bristol area. These services are provided free of charge to patients and their families.
