We are delighted to be able to deliver end-of-life training and separate bereavement training to staff from three of our local prisons.
The 12 month project which started in April last year has been funded by a grant from Hospice UK - Linder Foundation. Prison staff from HMP Bristol, HMP Leyhill and HMP Ashfield have been attending this teaching, reporting that they had found the sessions very informative and useful.
"Thank you once again for such an inspirational and thought-provoking two days. If only I had done this course at the beginning of my career, it was the most useful and relevant short course for general life skills and workplace that I have ever done, everyone should do it!".
St Peter's Hospice staff involved in the project
Our hospice staff delivering the sessions have been able to share their expertise whilst also learning more about the health inequalities that offenders face. We are looking forward meeting more prison staff over the next two months as we deliver more of these educational sessions.
