Our four-session workshop series offers approaches to understanding and managing pain, designed specifically for hospice patients. Each session provides practical tools and compassionate guidance to help you reclaim control over your pain experience.
Session 1, Fri 8 May, 1.30-3pm: Understanding your pain: A whole-person approach
A knowledge building workshop that reframes pain beyond a purely medical problem. We'll explore the complex nature of pain and introduce strategies for effective pain management. You'll leave with a clearer understanding of your pain experience and practical tools to begin taking control.
Session 2, Fri 15 May, 1.30-3pm: Rewriting your pain story: Exploring how you think about pain
Learn how to change your relationship with pain rather than fighting it. Through gentle techniques, we'll help you identify what truly matters to you and create meaningful actions aligned with your values. Discover how awareness and acceptance can become powerful allies in your pain management journey.
Session 3, Fri 22 May, 1.30-3pm: Listening when the body speaks: Understanding your nervous system
Learn how your body and nervous system can support you in managing pain. This workshop aims to help you understand the different aspects of your experience and develop gentle techniques for calming your nervous system. Together, we'll explore practical ways to cultivate comfort and ease, even when living with pain and discomfort.
Session 4, Fri 29 May, 1.30-3pm: Finding meaning: Nature-based approaches for deepening insight and connection
This workshop builds on the previous sessions and integrates ecological awareness with pain management. Our connection to the natural world can provide meaning, comfort, and a sense of belonging during challenging times.
Each session includes gentle practices, and take-home resources to help build your toolkit for pain management.
