Pain and Symptom Psychological Support

Pain and Symptom Psychological Support

This psychological support service focuses on equipping patients with tools for coping with their pain and symptoms.

Effective management of pain involves working with three factors - biological, psychological and social. This service aims to support you with the psychological factors and understand the role of the brain in your experience of pain and symptoms. We aim to give you the tools to cope with them, as well as a place to share your experience.

What to expect

To start with you will be offered an assessment with us, to help us understand more about you, your experience of illness, and whether this service would be suitable for you. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions to understand more about the service. Following this, if the assessment indicates you would benefit from this service, you will be offered sessions facilitated by a therapist.
