We all know that fast fashion is a problem. And here at St Peter's Hospice we are keenly aware of the role our charity shops can play in the solution.
Last year, 479,852 bags of preloved items were donated to our shops, saving them from landfill, and over 1 million people bought at least one thing from one of our shops. Putting the breaks on fast fashion is something that we are passionate about, and stats like this show us that you are too.
So, we thought you might like to know a bit more about how we are striving to be a more environmentally responsible business through how our shops operate.
And our journey to operating more sustainably doesn't stop there. This year we launched our internal Green Group. The Green Group has been working with external consultants to survey our retail department, helping us to understand how we use energy and what we can do to reduce our consumption. 300 hours and a detailed recommendations report later, we have some clear actions to implement.
Thank you for being on this journey with us. We hope that you feel positive about the future and empowered to make a difference by using St Peter's Hospice shops.
